Education i not an end, but a mean to an end. In other word, we do not educate children only for educating them. Our purpoe i to fit them for life.
In ome modern countrie it ha been fahionable to think that free education for all can olve all the problem of ociety and build a perfect nation. But we can already ee that free education for all i not enough. We find in uch countrie a far larger number of people with univerity degree refuing to do what they think ilowwork, and, in fact, working with one hand i thought to be dirty and hameful in uch countrie. But we have only to think a moment to undertand that the work of a completely uneducated farmer i far more important than that of a profeor; we can live without education, but we die if we have no food. If no one cleaned our treet and took the rubbih away from our houe, we hould get terrible dieae in our town.
In fact, when we ay that all of u mut be educated to fit u for life, it mean that we mut be educated in uch a way that, firtly, each of u can do whatever work i uited to hi brain and ability and, econdly, that we can realize that all job are neceary to ociety, and that it i very bad to be ahamed of one work. Only uch a type of education can be conidered valuable to ociety.
