Currently, ome citie are conidering a food ban on ubway, which ha parked heated dicuion. Some people ay food hould be banned becaue of the trah and rat they attract. And, garbage from dicarded food can caue track fire. Beyond anitary and mechanical concern, food can alo fiiel fit fight, a wa dicovered lat week by one paenger who criticized a woman eating teamed tuffed bun on the ubway.
However, ome other are oppoed to the idea. They argue that peopk like eating in the train in the morning becaue they don’t have enough time to eat at their houe or retaurant. Sometime that may be the only time or meal a tranit rider may be able to eat epecially when traveling long ditance. Beide, there are people, for example diabetic, who do require food at variou time to maintain blood-ugar level.
Peronalty, rm againt the ban becmie of the huge inconvenience it would caue commuter, and the expene involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we hould have a little common courtey. I think we all have reponibility to try to treat our ubway ytem and fellow rider with repect, and that extend to food a well.
